Last year two of our brewers were left in charge of the brewery across the Xmas-New Year break whilst the rest of the BrewCrew were resting over a pint. They brewed the first batch of Clean Sweep and what a stunning wee clean pale ale it was - dry, aromatic and beautifully crisp.
The rest of the BrewCrew have got together to outdo those two renegades and produced this new batch of pale ale that we know you will appreciate. Long live in-house brewer’s competition we say!
Using a technique known as “Hop-Bursting” and a mix of warm and cold dry hopping the new Clean Sweep aroma is a huge treat of US Centennial hops that we have never achieved at this level before. Perceived bitterness is down allowing the hop flavour to shine on through big time.
The demand for the first batch of Clean Sweep on tap exceeded what we could supply so this time it’s all available on tap. 100% tap fresh pale ale – heck it’s gotta be good.
The name Clean Sweep is a nod to our fantastic four times World Champion rowing pair – local lad Hamish Bond, and the big man, Eric Murray. Not satisfied with that, the boys cleaned up in London with that beautiful gold medal and world best time! They performed a truly great Clean Sweep – Well done lads!! We hope this beer honours your efforts in the best possible way.
Cheers from the BrewCrew and here’s to Rio 2016
